EPS Holiday Party

Thursday, December 11th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on your calendars.As with the previous holiday parties, we will be hosting a photography white elephant gift exchange, so clean out your closet and find something to do with photography, wrap it and let’s find out who’s closet it will end up in. It can be from an old lens, old camera bag, to a squeaky air blower. Wrap it up nice and we’ll see who ends up with what…I think you get the idea.
The Photography White Elephant is a gift exchange, so each person participating in the gift exchange must bring one wrapped photography related present to the holiday party.
The gifts are placed in a central location by the Christmas Tree. Once everyone is assembled, each person who brought a gift, will draw a number to determine in which order they will take turns selecting a gift.
- The person with the number 1, chooses a gift, and then they will unwraps that gift so everyone can see it.
- The person with the number 2, has a choice – they may choose a new wrapped present, or they may take the present from the first person.
- The person with the number 3, also has a choice to take a new unwrapped present, or choose “any” previously unwrapped present.
- On subsequent turns, each person has the choice to either unwrap a new present or to steal another’s present.
- When a person’s gift is stolen, that person can either choose another wrapped gift to open or can steal from another player.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: a gift can only be stolen two (2) times, at that time, the gift is considered “Out-of-Play”.
- The exchange is over when everyone has a present. However, at the end, the first player may, if desired, steal any gift – even a gift that is Out-of-Play. The first player plays twice.
After the gift exchange (and if you’re not happy with your gift), we encourage swapping, trading, or donating your gift with others.
